The project focuses on the synthesis and characterization of new organic ligands capable of generating chemiluminescence under dissipative conditions, inspired by the technological platform developed within the ERC BioPoweredCL project. Some of these luminophores are already under advanced investigation in the group; the project aims to expand their structural diversity by introducing new functionalities, with particular emphasis on their interaction with transition metals and on how metal coordination can modulate both optical properties and the electron-transfer processes leading to excited-state formation.
