Spatial Analysis of Forest Ecosystems Using Geospatial Data, Remote Sensing, and Vegetation Indices.
EURAXESS hosting organisation · عدة بلدان أوروبية
The research aims to acquire and analyze geospatial data related to forest ecosystems in the Marche Region through the integration of remote sensing data, thematic maps, and field surveys. Spatial analysis methods and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) will be employed to characterize forest cover, vegetation structure, and the main environmental variables influencing wildfire susceptibility. Methodologies will be developed to monitor vegetation dynamics using satellite time series and to derive vegetation indices and other biophysical indicators useful for assessing forest cover, vegetation water content, and fuel availability. The resulting datasets and analyses will provide technical and scientific information to support the updating of the Marche Region Wildfire Risk Map.
