Postdoc in the Synthesis of Gold Complexes for Use in the Treatment of Leishmaniasis (M/F)

The postdoctoral fellow in chemical synthesis will participate in the ANR NEGLECT project (New antileishmanial gold complexes: development and mechanisms of action). The scientific component to be developed by the postdoc includes: 1) the synthesis of families of functionalized imidazolium salts and the corresponding gold complexes; 2) characterization using standard spectroscopic methods; 3) photophysical studies of the gold complexes; and 4) measurement of the lipophilicity of the complexes. Experimental activities: organic and organometallic synthesis of proligands and gold complexes; identifying the most suitable methods for their purification using major chromatographic systems; and fully characterizing the compounds using spectroscopic methods.
