The Academy for Health Professions at Ulm University Hospital runs a separate application track for its three-year nursing Ausbildung for people whose school certificate is from abroad. Training starts every 1 April and 1 October. Applications are open all year, at the earliest one year before the start. Pay is 1,692 to 1,849 euros a month. A B2 German certificate with at least 85 percent is required.
Who can apply
Nationality
The track is for applicants whose school certificate is from abroad. Uniklinik Ulm says recruitment from the 55 countries on the WHO health workforce safeguards list is restricted. The WHO 2023 list does not include Tunisia, so a Tunisian applicant can use this track.
German
A recognised B2 German certificate with all four modules passed and at least 85 percent (gut).
School certificate
A school certificate at least equivalent to the German Mittlerer Bildungsabschluss, translated into German with grades. Recognition by the Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart follows the provisional offer.
Funding and what it does not cover
Training pay under the hospital's collective agreement, from 1 April 2026: 1,692 euros a month in year one, 1,753 euros in year two and 1,849 euros in year three, plus an annual bonus.
