This cycle is closed. The requirements below are kept as they were published. AGYA publishes its call for membership each year at the beginning of the year; selection is in early summer and new members start at the autumn Annual Conference. The 2027 deadline is not published yet.

Country / affiliation

Members must be affiliated with a university or research institution in Germany or one of the 22 Arab countries. AGYA's membership page lists Tunisia among the countries members can come from.

Early-career researchers 3 to 10 years after the PhD with a proven record of excellence, from any discipline, who are committed to academic leadership and interdisciplinary research.

Members must be willing and able to commit time and effort to joint AGYA projects and to attend the two General Assemblies each year.

Funding and what it does not cover

AGYA funds and administers its members' collaborative research projects (Tandem Projects, Working Groups, a yearly members' idea competition) and pays travel funds so members can attend its conferences and activities. Members and alumni can also apply for short Research Mobility Program fellowships. Amounts are not published.
