Who can apply

Criteria stated by the funder on the official source.

Nationality
The EMBO FAQ says applicants may apply regardless of nationality for a fellowship in an EMBC member state, if they change country. The June 2026 guidelines list EMBC members and do not include Tunisia. A non-EMBC host requires EMBC nationality.

Education
Applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent at the start. If the PhD is already awarded, it must have been obtained in the two years before the application is submitted. A first-author research paper is required.

Funding and what it does not cover

In EMBC member states EMBO funds a full-time employment contract. The guidelines say the rate depends on the host country and is not a gross salary. A relocation allowance exists; the rate sheet was not copied.
