The Huntington's Research Division awards about 140 fellowships a year to scholars from around the world: 14 long-term fellowships of 25,000 or 50,000 dollars, and about 120 short-term fellowships of one to three months at 4,000 dollars a month, plus travel grants and exchanges. Applications for 2027-2028 close on 15 November 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time. Decisions come in March 2027.

Register on the fellowships portal, set your eligibility profile under My Account, then complete the online application following the Application Guidelines and upload all materials by the deadline.
Funding and what it does not cover
Short-term fellows receive 4,000 dollars a month for one to three months. Long-term fellows receive 50,000 dollars for nine months or 25,000 dollars for four to five months. The Berger Trust fellowship pays 5,000 dollars a month, and travel grants are 4,000 dollars.
