Analysis of connectivity patterns in the northern- central Adriatic Sea

The project aims to reconstruct the connectivity patterns in the north - central Adriatic Sea from a multi annual physical and environmental dataset collected through monitoring activities in the period 2022-2026. The available information will be used to investigate the recent variability in mussel population, with particular attention to the thermal stress and unusual mortality episodes observed during 2022–2026. By integrating hydrology and circulation monitoring data, data set from CMEMS and lagrangian modelling, the project will allow to disentangle the observed biological patterns in relation to marine circulation, potential connectivity and the intensification of marine heatwaves.
