Bio-ecological studies and development of innovative methods for sustainable agricultural pest management (published on the “Albo Ufficiale” with n. 9940/2026))
EURAXESS hosting organisation · Multiple European countries
This research aims to identify new sustainable methods to control agricultural insect pests, including Philaenus spumarius, Neophilaenus campestris, Drosophila suzukii, and Scaphoideus titanus. Specifically, laboratory studies will investigate spittlebug behavioral responses to various chemical and/or physical stimuli to develop novel monitoring and control systems. Additionally, laboratory bioassays on Drosophila suzukii will evaluate the efficacy of sustainable management tools, such as essential oils. Field studies will analyze population dynamics to optimize control strategies against Scaphoideus titanus.
