DEVELOPMENT OF KINETIC INDUCTANCE DETECTORS AND THEIR OPTICAL COUPLING FOR THE COSMO EXPERIMENT

EURAXESS hosting organisation · Multiple European countries

The COSMO experiment for measuring the spectral distortions of the Cosmic Microwave Background employs a Fourier Transform Spectrometer and two arrays of Kinetic Inductance Detectors to cover the 100-300 GHz band. The activity involves the circuit and electromagnetic simulation, as well as the experimental verification, of the performance of the detectors and their optical coupling system. This work will allow for the optimization of the band coverage of the two arrays and the radiation absorption efficiency, providing an important piece in the complex spectral calibration process of the experiment.
