This project focuses on the development of innovative materials and electrodes for high-performance PEM water electrolyzers with reduced critical raw material content. Advanced HER catalysts based on doped and undoped nanostructured MoS₂ and OER catalysts consisting of low-iridium mixed oxides and high-entropy alloys will be synthesized, correlating composition, structure, and morphology with electrocatalytic activity, stability, and degradation mechanisms. The most promising materials will be integrated into electrodes and MEAs using scalable and reproducible deposition processes.
