Nationality and area
Participants must be nationals of a country with diplomatic relations with Japan. The area list is worldwide and names Tunisia under North Africa. Selection by country may be limited for budget reasons.
StatedTeaching post
The teacher must be employed by an overseas organisation that teaches Japanese, with six months to under five years of teaching as of 1 December 2026. Practice and private lessons do not count.
StatedJapanese
Japanese must be JF Standard A2 or higher, or JLPT N4 or higher, or old JLPT level 3 or higher, at the time of application.
StatedFunding and what it does not cover
All participants receive accommodation, meals during the programme, and insurance for sickness and injury. Air tickets and a set in-kind allowance are for marked countries. Whether Tunisia is marked is not shown in this reading.
