Getting Tunisian transcripts translated and legalised

Certified copies, sworn translation, then legalisation or apostille — in that order, with waiting time.

Order of operations

Request official transcripts and diplomas first. Then obtain certified copies if required. Only then commission a sworn translator into the destination language. Legalisation or apostille usually comes last — confirming the sequence with your destination embassy avoids redoing paid work.

Timing from Tunisia

University registries and ministries can take weeks. Start document work before you shortlist deadlines. Keep digital scans and paper originals separate; portals often want colour scans under a size limit.

What “sworn” means

A sworn (assermenté / beeidigt) translator is recognised by the destination system. A bilingual friend is not a substitute when the checklist names a sworn translation.
