JSPS funds about 120 foreign postdoctoral researchers per round for 12 to 24 months of research with a host in Japan. Fellows get 362,000 yen a month, a return air ticket, a settling-in allowance of 200,000 yen and travel insurance. The host researcher applies through the Japanese institution; JSPS's deadline for the second round is 23 April 2027 at 5 p.m. Japan time. The PhD must date from 2 April 2021 or later.
