In short

Princeton University's Fung Global Fellows Program brings six early-career scholars employed outside the United States to Princeton for ten months. The 2027-28 theme is Democracy in Crisis?, open to the humanities and social sciences. Applicants need a PhD received generally after 1 September 2017 and a faculty or research post abroad. Applications close on 16 November 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Who can apply

Nationality
The programme selects scholars from around the world who are employed outside the United States. A Tunisian scholar with a faculty or research post in Tunisia or elsewhere outside the United States qualifies.
Degree
A PhD or equivalent received generally after 1 September 2017. Current PhD students and postdocs are not eligible.
Materials
In English: cover letter of up to 1.5 pages, CV, research proposal of up to three pages, writing sample of up to 50 pages, and three referees whose letters arrive by the deadline.

Funding and what it does not cover

Fellows are appointed Visiting Research Scholars at Princeton for ten months. Princeton does not publish the pay or benefits on the programme pages.
