Criteria stated by the funder on the official source.

Nationality
Eligibility is set by the director's nationality. Tunisia is named on DFI's official MENA countries list, so Tunisian directors apply under the MENA rules. Non-MENA directors can only get post-production funding for first or second features.

Features: first- or second-time directors who have directed at least one short film; established MENA directors (two or more features) may apply for post-production only. Shorts: directors with no previous work over 30 minutes.

Features must run 65 minutes or more and shorts 5 to 30 minutes; projects that premiere before selection ends are not eligible. Narrative features in development or production, and all shorts, need an attached producer other than the director.

Stage-one dossiers can be submitted in English, Arabic or French; shortlisted projects must provide English translations of all documents.

A director can be attached to only one application per cycle. A feature project can apply at most twice per production stage; a short film project can apply only once.

Funding and what it does not cover

Caps depend on format and stage: narrative features up to US$20,000 (development), US$100,000 (production) and US$75,000 (post-production); documentary features up to US$15,000, US$75,000 and US$50,000; experimental and essay features up to US$10,000 and US$30,000; MENA shorts up to US$15,000 (narrative) or US$12,500 (documentary) for production; TV series development up to US$20,000; web series production up to US$30,000. Selected projects sign a grant agreement.
