KAUST Fellowship — fully funded MS and PhD study in Saudi Arabia

Every student admitted to a KAUST MS or PhD receives the KAUST Fellowship: full tuition, a stipend of USD 20,000 (MS) or 25,000–30,000 (PhD) a year, housing, health insurance and relocation. Fall 2027 applications run from 28 September 2026 to 3 January 2027.

Who can apply

Criteria stated by the funder on the official source.

Education
A bachelor's degree in a relevant subject for the MS; a master's degree in a relevant subject for the PhD; minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4-point scale (or equivalent); at least 18 years old on entry.

Official English test, for example IELTS 7 overall (6.5 in each section), PTE Academic 71 or Cambridge C1/C2 185. You may apply without a score but must meet the minimum before enrolment.

Students with substantial external sponsorship (tuition, living or relocation costs) may not receive the KAUST Fellowship in addition to that sponsorship.

Funding and what it does not cover

KAUST lists full tuition and bench fees (up to USD 35,000 a year), a stipend of USD 20,000 a year (MS) or USD 25,000–30,000 (PhD, depending on qualifications and progress), base accommodation, health insurance and relocation support (visa, relocation and travel costs). It values the package at USD 70,000–80,000 a year.
