Stanford's Knight-Hennessy Scholars funds up to three years of any full-time Stanford graduate degree: tuition, a living stipend and yearly travel. Citizens of all countries may apply. The 2027 cohort application closes on 6 October 2026 at 1 pm Pacific Time; a separate Stanford degree application is also required.

The eligibility page says 'We encourage citizens and residents of all countries to apply' and that there are no quotas by world region. Tunisia is not named but is not excluded.

Bachelor's degree date

First bachelor's degree (or equivalent) earned in January 2020 or later, or by September 2027 for current students; January 2018 or later for those who served in the military. A later graduate degree does not reset the window.

You must apply to, be accepted by and enrol in a full-time Stanford graduate degree programme starting in the same year as KHS. KHS cannot admit you to Stanford.

KHS sets no language test itself; the Stanford degree programme may require an English proficiency test (TOEFL or IELTS; PTE for the MBA only).

Funding and what it does not cover

During each of the first three years KHS pays a fellowship against tuition and associated fees, a stipend for living and academic expenses and a travel stipend for one annual economy trip; new scholars also receive a one-time relocation stipend. Stipends are taxable.
