CIMPA and Université Hassan II de Casablanca run a two-week research school, taught in French, on mathematical modelling and artificial intelligence for health and the environment, in July 2027. It is for doctoral students and young researchers. There is no registration fee, and CIMPA funds travel and stay for participants from developing countries, including Tunisia. The deadline is 5 March 2027.
Who can apply
Country
CIMPA schools are aimed mainly at students and researchers based in developing countries as defined by the International Mathematical Union (IMU), and only they can receive funding. Tunisia is on the IMU list of developing countries (Priority 2), so a student or researcher based in Tunisia can apply and ask for funding.
Level
The school is for doctoral students and young researchers. CIMPA courses are at least at master's level, and the CV must detail the master's courses related to the school's theme.
Language
The school is taught in French, and CIMPA asks applicants to master the language of the school.
Application
A detailed CV, a cover letter with concrete reasons, and up to two recommendation letters sent directly by the referees.
Funding and what it does not cover
There is no registration fee. Participants from developing countries can ask CIMPA for travel support; requests above 1,000 euros are considered only in exceptional cases, and support may be partial. Participants from outside the host city are housed during the school, with coffee breaks and meals.
