EU volunteering for people aged 18–30 (register from 17) who legally reside in a covered country, including Tunisia. Register on the Corps portal and apply to activities open to your country of residence. Registering does not guarantee a place. Apply with the Corps, not through Opporiva.
Who can apply
Residence
Official About and Countries covered pages: you can register if you legally reside in an EU country, a country associated to the Programme, or a country not associated, including Tunisia. You can only apply to activities open to people from your country of residence.
Age
Register from 17; start at 18; must not be older than 30 at the start of the activity (35 for Humanitarian Aid Volunteering, which has a narrower residence rule).
Duration limits and registration
For projects funded from 2024 onwards, all volunteering activities combined cannot exceed 12 months; only one long-term individual cross-border activity (2–12 months) is allowed, save rare exceptions; several short-term activities (2 weeks–2 months) are possible. Registration needs an EU Login account with mandatory multi-factor authentication.
Funding and what it does not cover
Costs covered + pocket money of 4-12 EUR/day by host country (2026 Guide; 2027 to be confirmed)Amount checked on 23 October 2026
The official volunteering page (checked 23 Oct 2026) says volunteers are not paid; the project covers insurance, language support and training, travel to and from the project, accommodation and food, pocket money, and specific needs such as visa costs. The 2026 Guide sets daily pocket money by host country, for example 8 EUR in France, 7 EUR in Germany, 6 EUR in Italy or Spain, 4 EUR in Romania, 11 EUR in Ireland and 12 EUR in Denmark. Travel is funded to the organisation by distance band, for example 309 EUR per participant for 500 to 1 999 km. 2027 amounts are to be confirmed when the 2027 Guide is published.

How to apply
Check age and residence
Register from 17, start from 18, and be no older than 30 when the activity starts. You must legally reside in Tunisia or another covered country.
Create an EU Login account
Create it, verify your e-mail, then switch on multi-factor authentication, which is mandatory.
Complete your profile on the Corps portal
Click 'Register' on the portal, sign in with EU Login and follow all the steps to create your profile.
Find a support organisation
Individual volunteering abroad needs one support and one host organisation. Search the organisations database on the portal.
Filter offers open to residents of Tunisia
Apply only to offers that name your country of residence. For you, the activity will take place in an EU Member State or an associated country.
Apply and prepare for the interview
Explain why this specific project suits you. Organisations can also contact you if your profile matches.
Handle the visa with the organisation
Organisations must make sure your visa or residence permit is in order before departure; the Guide strongly recommends applying well in advance, as the process can take several weeks.
Documents to prepare
EU Login account with multi-factor authentication
Complete profile on the European Solidarity Corps portal
Valid Tunisian passport
Proof of legal residence in Tunisia (to be confirmed with the organisation)
CV and motivation letter tailored to the project (often requested, to be confirmed per offer)
Agreement with your support and host organisations
Visa or residence-permit file required by the host country
Medical certificates or vaccinations if the host country requires them
From Tunisia
The Countries covered page lists Tunisia among countries not associated to the Programme, and the FAQ 'Who can join' names Tunisia, so a young person legally resident in Tunisia can register and apply to volunteering activities open to their country. Residence is what counts, not nationality. There is no Corps National Agency in Tunisia; the About page points to a National Agency or regional SALTO resource centre, which you should identify on the portal (to be confirmed). The 2026 Guide lets a project use at most 25% of its grant for participants from non-associated countries (a project of four volunteers or fewer may exceed this for one such volunteer), so places can be limited and it is wise to apply to several offers. For the visa, prepare your passport, the host organisation's letter and insurance; rules on legalising or sworn translation of Tunisian documents depend on the host country's consulate (check with it). The programme sets no single language; each offer states its own. Common mistakes: applying to offers that do not name Tunisia, targeting Solidarity Projects (closed to Tunisian residents) or starting the visa too late.
