Enrolled in the last year of a graduate degree (master's or equivalent) or a higher degree programme relevant to the ILO's work, or completed such a programme in the year preceding the application.

Interns or their sponsoring institution pay for travel, passport, visa, insurance, accommodation and living costs. When no university, government or other institution supports the intern, the ILO pays a stipend to cover basic subsistence costs; the amount is not published.
