Applicants must hold a valid passport of a WHO Member State. Tunisia is on WHO's list of 194 Member States (who.int/countries), in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.

Enrolled in a university course leading to a formal qualification, with three years of full-time study completed before the internship starts, or applying within 18 months of finishing the last qualification. PhD students are eligible. The institution must be listed in the WHED database.

Funding and what it does not cover

No salary. WHO pays a need-based living allowance whose maximum differs by duty station and is given in each vacancy; a Geneva notice open in September 2026 set it at up to CHF 1,680 a month for interns living outside Geneva. WHO also provides medical and accident insurance and, in Geneva, lunch vouchers of CHF 20 per working day.
